Renew you with Drew - How to take care of your brown skin

Hello ladies....hope all of you had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday.

Today I wanted to share with you a site I discovered online that was developed by a well known dermatologist, her name is Dr. Susan Taylor. She has a private practice in Philadelphia and now has a website that you can go to get advice concerning your skin. Her site particularly is targeted for those who have brown skin...Whether you're Latino, African American, Asian, Indian or Middle-Eastern descent, our skin, hair, and nails are unique and should be treated differently when seeking skin, hair, and nail care.

When I read up on Dr. Taylor's purpose on giving us this educational site www.brownskin.net, it made me have a better understanding of how women of color should take more notice on the care of their skin. Just like any other specialty in a particular area, women and men of color should research and find a dermatologist that has well experience with treating people of color. Brown skin comes in many shades and that's part of what makes it so unique. So to all my brown skin ladies please be informed on how to maintain your beautiful skin and always remember embrace your face.

Take the time to read through Dr. Susan Taylor's site. I promise that you will be well informed.

Below are just some suggested skin care products that Dr. Taylor has to offer on her website.

A Touch of Happiness

This is really a touch of happiness! I have to be honest I have never really been a fan of Nivea products. Oh but now, I am because I really love this body wash. It is called a Touch of happiness and with its orange blossom scent and bamboo essence it is a keeper!

Nivea at ShopStyle

Here is what Nivea says “Experience the happy sensation and energizing scent this nourishing NIVEA body wash gives you and your skin. This silky cream-gel with nourishing bamboo essence gives you incredibly soft skin while cleansing very mildly. Its indulging intense lathering formula is enriched with energizing orange blossom scent to awaken your senses.”

I say This is splendid it smells magnificent and you only need a little. My skin is super soft and again the citrus smell wakes you and makes you feel in high spirits.

Other products from this line (pictured at the bottom below)are Touch of Bliss, Touch of Sparkle, and Touch of Smoothness.

Night out

I received an email from a 20 something Style, via Tia reader who be attending a Holiday party at the hair salon where she works and, she wanted a fun idea on what to wear. She also mentioned that she was “afraid of color” nonetheless, she still wanted to try it out.

My idea is below:

I thought she would feel safe in this deep purple dress and added most of the color in her accessories!

Have fun.
